Committee Update - October 24,2009
Can you believe that just two weeks ago we were preparing for the Reunion of the '60's, 2009? New, it is another fond memory for thos of us who were there. What a great time we had! Never have we heard more positive comments from so many people.Speaking of so many people, while the "official" count is not in as yet, suffice it to say this was a record year! Paid attendance was in the high 600's!! While over 700 actually paid, a few were unable to attend due to last minute circumstances. These lowered our attendance a bit. But, still a RECORD year!! Thank you all. There are a few other important things we'd like to share with you: First, most of you will recall seeing a film crew at Ducks. Our reunion is to be highlighted on a television show that features "the stories of the people and places of the Carolinas". Life in the Carolinas, hosted by Carl White, is seen on Fox Charlotte, WCCB. The segment in which our reunion is featured will be broadcast Saturday, October 31st at 12:00 Noon!! Set your DVR's, Tivos, VHS recorders, whatever you have. Or just watch live as we relive the Reunion of the '60's 2009! Tell all of your family and friends, especially any classmates who have not yet attended OD. This may just be what they need to decide to join us in 2010. In the near future, this same show will air in other markets around North and South Carolina. As we learn the scheduled air dates and the affiliates broadcasting the show, we will put that info on our Message Board. Please check in regulary so that hopefully, you will see it in your home market. Secondly, our photographer has all of the pics he took for us online now. You may view all 933 photos at http://www.pictage.com/735946. Just follow the instructions. We will have these photos on OUR website in the near future. Lastly, if you have any suggestions for the committee, click on "Contact Us" from our home page and submit them. You may direct them to a committee member of your choice or just click "submit". Either way, we will receive them. Keep all those who were unable to attend due to illness of family emergencies in your thoughts and prayers.
